Fresh Almond Milk
Prep: 5 minutes
Cook Time: 10 minutes
I’m so health conscience and they messed up let me make almond milk myself! I do NOT drink milk and almond, cashew, or oat are by far the best options for “milk.” No disrespect to the groceries stores but baby I saved a couple of dollars just making this on my own and the fact that the level of difficulty is too easy, I couldn’t return to the store.
1 Bag of 8oz raw almonds (DO NOT GET ROASTED, SALTED, IT MUST BE RAW!)
4 cups of water
A sieve or nut milk bag or cheesecloth
A dash of cinnamon
Directions: Start the heated soak process by putting raw almonds in pot and boiling and as soon as almonds come into a boil, turn off the heat and let them sit for 15 minutes. This will allow skin to be removed from almonds. Rinse almonds in cold water. To test the almonds tenderness, press down and almond should pop out of skin. Put almonds, date, and cinnamon into blender with 4 cups of water and blend for 2 minutes. Once blended, run milk into a sieve, cheesecloth or milk bag and allow milk to drain. I do this process twice to make sure almond bits do not fall. Using a sieve, you can use a spoon to squeeze the milk out. Grab a glass jar and pour milk inside and store for 3-4 days! ENJOY!
